President Donald Trump escalated his beef with The New York Times early Tuesday, calling it a “TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!” and a security threat that must be “stopped” in a wee-hours rant on Truth Social.
“The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation,” he began. “Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior, writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way, must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! Thank you for you [sic] attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DJT.”

It’s not entirely clear what set off Trump, who’s in Florida, but the recentpossibilities in the newspaper are many.
On Monday Trump also accused of the newspaper of downplaying his plan to lower prescription drug costs.
“The New York Times had a story about it, a small story, way in the back of the paper,” he said, per The Daily Beast. “It’s the single biggest thing to happen with respect to drugs probably in 50 years.”
Earlier this month, the paper sued Trump’s Pentagon and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over new press restrictions.
