Stoughton police helped deliver a big gift on Christmas morning, as two officers assisted a woman as she gave birth on the side of the road.
According to a Facebook post from the Stoughton Police Department, officers received a report of a woman in active labor inside a parked vehicle on Thursday morning.
Two officers — identified by Stoughton police as Officer Guzman and Sgt. Medeiros — arrived on the scene, where they found the mother-to-be in the backseat, ready to deliver.

According to Stoughton police, Guzman directed her to push, while Medeiros assisted in the delivery.
The baby, a boy, was born in the car at 6:17 a.m on Christmas morning.
Medeiros cleared the baby’s mouth and nose, rubbed his back and gave him to his mother.
The mother and her newborn were taken to Boston Medical Center, where the Stoughton police reported they are “doing well.”
“We are proud of Sgt. Medeiros and Officer Guzman for their quick actions, teamwork, and compassion during this once-in-a-lifetime Christmas miracle,” the post read. “From all of us at the Stoughton Police Department, congratulations to the new mother and her family, and welcome to the world, little one.”
